Green or sustainable or both

It is true that the 9000 square foot house way out of town, no matter how well built, is, inherently, not so sustainable given fuel use and size of the house itself. However since that kind of house will continue to be built it is fine with me that, at least, it is a Green built home. Sure beats the alternative of a poorly designed energy hog of a house. Sure everyone is hanging out their Green shingle today and not all of the projects being built or renovated are sustainable. It sure is better than where we were even 3 years ago. I for one will continue to tirelessly promote Green Building and sustainable construction and not worry too much about how it is labelled. As a country we had to start somewhere so if some projects have Green features but are not entirely sustainable I will take it and, at the same time, increase my education and understanding of best sustainable practices and techniques and put that into my Green projects.
